Swiss-born artist Stimmenfeuer has just released a new album in collaboration with producer M.RUX. This project showcases an intuitive layering of vocals and harmonies, where the focus is on the pure sound of vowels and syllables, transcending the traditional use of words. The emphasis is on creating an emotional connection through the sound itself, rather than through lyrical content.
The album is characterized by encapsulated rhythms and complex sequencing, intertwined with catchy hooks that draw the listener in. M.RUX played a central role in producing the backbone of the songs, which are heavily driven by percussion. This concept album seamlessly blends vocals and beats, highlighting the unique collaboration between Franziska von Crayon (Stimmenfeuer) and M.RUX.
The creative process behind the album involved using drones from a Shruti box as the foundation for many of the tracks. The songs were allowed to evolve organically from these sessions, with the vocals serving both as a percussive element and the primary source of harmonic structure. The interplay between beats and the electronic components of the music often emerged directly from the vocal performances, creating a deeply integrated sound.
The album was developed over several sessions held in Germany, Switzerland, and England, reflecting the diverse influences and environments that shaped its unique sound.
