The desire for undying devotion informed the courtly chansons of the trouvères in a large number of ballads, rondeaus, and virelais of the late fourteenth century. The internationally renowned ensemble ALTA MUSICA under the direction of Rainer Böhm presents here a collection of love songs with enchantingly beautiful music. The ensemble’s splendid, radiant sound results from the Alta Musica-typical instrumentation with shawms and bombards.
