The young ensemble Les Récréations enthralls with baroque profundity and wide musical arches on its debut CD, which contains three world premiere recordings of works by Johann Gottlieb Graun. Graun was considered one of the greatest violin players of his day. He also left behind an extensive musical oeuvre, including nearly 130 trio sonatas. Les Récréations has succeeded in selecting trio sonatas from the manuscript of the Amalienbibliothek in Berlin that reflect very opulently and sonorously the facets of Graun’s music.
